Tiscali France Transforms Broadband Services Using Juniper Networks Solutions
Increase in ADSL Subscriptions Drives Need for Tiscali France Infrastructure Upgrade
SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 4, 2003—Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Tiscali France has transformed its broadband service offerings with the deployment of Juniper Networks M- and T-series routing platforms. Tiscali France's core network is now equipped to support the massive increase in ADSL subscriptions. Furthermore, with the Juniper Networks solutions in place, Tiscali France can easily scale its infrastructure to meet future growth demands.
"The decision to transform our network follows the recent acquisition of Cable & Wireless' French B2B internet business in combination with a sharp increase in ADSL subscriptions in France. We chose the Juniper Networks platforms because their proven carrier-class reliability and performance without compromise will enable us to transform and future proof our network. The scalability and interoperability of the M- and T-series has enabled us to cut operational costs and therefore add significantly to the profitability of the network," said Benoit Grange, network director of Tiscali France.
The network overhaul will see Juniper Networks solutions deployed throughout France, with T320 and M40e platforms installed in Tiscali's main Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille. Smaller PoPs across France will be equipped with M5 platforms.
The new infrastructure, underpinned by Juniper Networks proven technology, allows Tiscali France to scale from 16 to 64 times the current capacity, thereby providing Tiscali France with a clear and cost effective growth path for the future.
